Remember, Remember

The Victor of the 40th Hunger Games
Rye Paramintt

District Nine
Kill Count: 2

After winning the Games, Rye returned back to Nine, to become a mentor for the future generations. Day by day, Rye's mentality decreased. But the Capitol refused to allow him away. The horrors in the Games broke him. Knowing both Everest and Veena sacrificed their lives for him was unbearable. His mother and two little sisters, Zea and Kasha, soon moved into his home in Victor's Village with him, though it took him awhile to accept company. The Victors Tour took an even harder toll on Rye, seeing Everest's twin sister Trinity, who looked just like him, as well as having to face Nico's parents and Ryder's siblings, knowing that he killed their relative, their own flesh and blood, for his survival. The moment he turned 16, President Snow began to prostitute him out to the Capitol. Rye was powerless to stop him and soon, with the added pressure, Rye began to spiral even faster. One day, Rye snapped and allowed the voice to be released. He soon brutally murdered the most recent man from the Capitol to have brought him. President Snow didn't want this to get out and so, Rye was banished back to Nine, not allowed to mentor or come back to the Capitol. One fateful day in Nine, during the 50th Hunger Games, Rye hung himself in his home, aged 24. At last, he was free from the voice, the pressure and the icy grip of President Snow. At last, he could be with his friends, safe and sound.

Second Place: Ryder Corvair
District Six
Kill Count: 2

Ryder's coffin was returned to her brothers; Bentley, Axel, Track and Boost, back in Six. Each took to their own grief, but the feeling was mutual - life just wouldn't be the same without their baby sister. Six was just a different place. Everyone knew her, most feared her, but her death was still a shock. Her brothers soon managed to start their own garage, dedicating to their sister, who loved being in a garage more than anything.

Third Place: Nico Cashlin
District One
Kill Count: 3

Nico's body was taking back to his parents, though they didn't want it much. They never wanted him to volunteer, they wanted more from him. They soon cremated their son, collecting his ashes and scattering them in their backyard. None of his family missed him. They never could. Not the boy that disobeyed his parents for a cheap shot at fame.

Fourth Place: Alex Applique
District Eight
Kill Count: 2

When Alex's torture of his sister was apparent, his parents disowned him. They never watched him again, including his death. When people in Eight told them, they ignored the words. They didn't care that their son died. He just wasn't the same little boy. When his coffin arrived, their family turned it away, lying that they couldn't afford a funeral. It was burned alongside Denim and Troy. That year, Eight never buried a tribute.

Fifth Place: Battery Rosenthal
District Three
Kill Count: 1

Battery's funeral was held the same day as Glitch's. Her family was thankful that Battery had such an easy death. She was buried within Three's graveyard, which was overly large, attended by family and all of Battery's friends. Everybody loved her. Her 7 brothers and 3 sisters missed their sister terribly, but thankfully, no-one was reaped.

Sixth Place: Camila Norvic
District Two
Kill Count: 3

Nobody missed Camila. Nobody was sad during her death. Camila had made enemies before volunteering and that came at a price. When she killed Kaden, she became a legend with Two's Training Centre, but for all the wrong reasons. Two don't kill their own. She was cremated, attended by no-one accept Marcia. She took Camila's ashes to her home, leaving them on the fireplace.

Seventh Place: Everest Sawyer
District Ten
Kill Count: 1

Everest's body was sent to Trinity, his sister, the only person left in his life. She cried, noticing how Everest looked so peaceful in his death. She thanked Rye each day for saving what was left of her brother before his death. During Rye's Victory Tour, he made eye contact with Trinity the whole time, showing his full care for Everest. Everest was buried on the Sawyer farm, visited everyday by Trinity, who laid flowers. Soon, a package arrived, containing money and food. There was no name, except the address saying from Nine.

Eighth Place: Sorrel Springfield
District Eleven
Kill Count: 2

Sorrel's body was soon buried in the Eleven graveyard, alongside her sister, Pickney. Her mother could never understand why both her daughters were stripped away from her. Sorrel's time within the arena often became a topic within Eleven. No-one could understand how she died so easily, when she was always a fighter.

Ninth Place: Branton Callahan
District Twelve
Kill Count: 0

From a request from Blaize's family, Branton's coffin was buried in a shallow grave, opposite Blaize. They said their daughter was never like that with anyone. That Branton brought her softer side out. Branton's mother learned to cope on her own, but eventually, she died from malnutrition. Branton would always be near Blaize forever, whether she liked it or not.

Tenth Place: Diamond Lacette
District One
Kill Count: 2

Diamond's coffin was sent to her father, Savoy, often the driving force behind Diamond's volunteering. He made a speech, declaring how proud he was of his daughter. Savoy soon opened up an academy within One, for all future volunteers. Diamond was buried on school grounds, a plaque sat on a bench, underneath a willow tree, describing her efforts and dedication into training. Savoy never allowed a Cashlin to enter the school.

Eleventh Place: Troy Reed
District Four
Kill Count: 3

When Troy's death was announced, his parents were pleased. They never bothered to watch that year, knowing their son had a good chance in returning. They didn't want that. Instead, they threw a party, celebrating the death of their "demon" child. When Troy's coffin arrived at their door, they ignored the knock. Troy's body was soon discarded of, burned to ashes back in the Capitol.

Twelfth Place: Kaden Hallory
District Two
Kill Count: 1

Liam couldn't contain his emotions as he watched Camila stab Kaden in the throat. He begged Two to allow him his brother's remains, but the Training Centre refused. Rules were that tributes were to be cremated on Training Centre grounds. Liam didn't attend, but many of Kaden's fellow trainees did. The next day, Liam vanished, never to be seen again. Marcia couldn't have been more happier in crushing his spirits.

Thirteenth Place: Demetria Greene
District Ten
Kill Count: 0

Demetria's body was returned back to her family in Ten, where she was soon cremated. The ceremony was small, quaint, attended by her parents, Fibrus and Brinna, as well as her little brother, Ethanic. Her ashes were collected, placed within the home. Everyday, Ethanic looks at it, wondering why his sister, the girl who openly despised him, never tried harder to survive. Why she gave her life up so easily.

Fourteenth Place: Blaize Diano
District Twelve
Kill Count: 0

Blaize was buried in Twelve's graveyard, alongside many other tributes from Twelve. Barely anyone attended, besides family and a few friends. It was scarce. Branton's mother attended the funeral out of respect for the girl that helped her son. Branton was buried the next day, and in turn, the Diano family attended out of respect.

Fifteenth Place: Denim Weavan
District Eight
Kill Count: 0

Once Denim made the accusation, an investigation was held back in Eight. It soon came to light that indeed, Denim's mother, Mauve Weavan, was forcing her students to collect her tessarae. She was soon sentenced to a whipping in the Square, dying from her wounds as her students laughed. Nobody was home to collect Denim's body. She was burned within the Capitol, ashes piled away in a storage unit.

Sixteenth Place: Crew Willow
District Eleven
Kill Count: 0

Crew's body was buried within his small backyard, next to the house. Crew always wanted to be near his family. Nearly the whole of Eleven attended, including his mother, who couldn't have been more proud of their little boy. Seeder promised the family she would help them as much as possible. Every little kid she mentored after that, she could only ever see Crew. But no-one could quite live up to his place.

Seventeenth Place: Veena Avery
District Nine
Kill Count: 0

Veena was buried in one of her favourite places ever- back at home, near her family. Her brother, Jeffro, took the death most hard, breaking down in tears and cradling the coffin. It took days for him to finally allow her to rest in peace. When Rye arrived back home, he made sure to visit Jeffro, telling him how wonderful and kind Veena was. How she helped him. Rye made sure Veena's family never was hungry.

Eighteenth Place: Woods Davis
District Seven
Kill Count: 0

Woods' sudden death was a complete shock to Seven. Nobody really expected her to survive, but they never expected the rash girl to die so soon. Woods was buried within the local graveyard, flowers often left on her headstone everyday. Their family struggled to survive without their daughter, but they coped.

Nineteenth Place: Nerine Monroe
District Four
Kill Count: 0

Once her name was called and no volunteer stepped forward, people knew Nerine wouldn't have a strong chance. But they held hope. Nerine had a small funeral, next to the sea, attended by her friends and family. Her death started a revolution. Four begun to train nearly every child, determining that from that day forward, they would always have volunteers. They never kept their promise.

Twentieth Place: Tasi Merkava
District Seven
Kill Count: 0

Weirdly, no-one expected Tasi to return. More so after his romance with Woods. His adopted father, Haloti, buried Tasi underneath an oak tree, just outside of their lumberyard. Most days, Tasi's pet dog, Hope, visits the grave and lays down. She misses her owner a lot. From that day forward, Haloti held a grudge against Wood's family, blaming their daughter for his death. The grudge was never forgotten.

Twenty First Place: Glitch Mayhew
District Three
Kill Count: 0

Glitch's father, Lever, was broken when the coffin arrived at the door. His mother soon took control, ensuring that Glitch got a proper funeral, held on the same day as Battery. Lever thanked Battery's family for their daughter caring so much about their son. His funeral was attended by his close friends, as well as his girlfriend, Hinge, who laid a rose on his grave.

Twenty Second Place: Halston Salvador
District Six
Kill Count: 0

Nobody in Six really cared much for Halston's death. Then again, nobody really knew him. When his coffin was returned to Six, his father refused to accept him. The grief consumed him. He soon indulged himself in morphline, leaving Halston's brother, Trent, to bury Halston by himself. Halston was buried at the back of the family garage, a simple, metal cross declaring his name. His brother swore vengeance against the Capitol.

Twenty Third Place: Viola Grimm
District Five
Kill Count: 0

Through compassion, Aster personally accompanied Viola's coffin to Five, back to her parents and siblings. He apologised for failing in returning her home, but they weren't bitter. They knew their daughter wasn't going to survive, but they happy in knowing she went out as herself. Aster done what he always done. He ensured that her family always had something to eat.

Twenty Fourth Place: Buzz Alloy
District Five
Kill Count: 0

Buzz's parents knew, deep down in their hearts, that Buzz had little to no chance in returning home back to them. They didn't expect to collect his body to be so bad. His mother broke down, crying hysterically, refusing to bury her son. A whole month after the Games, Buzz was finally put to rest. Many years later, mentally unstable from his death, Buzz's mother hung herself.
